FIRST PLACE FIRST TIME!!!

Hey Twi-Hard Fans,
Sorry we have not blogged in a while but there was not anything really exciting till this week. So this week we went to South Africa. There were only 5 teams left this week and now 3 remain. Us being one of them. Team Twilight and Team Sumo wrestlers teamed up and helped each other though the whole race. I am starting in the middle of the race a bit but we had to take a quiz on soccer. Good thing liz knew some soccer not a lot but some. ( It took us a few trys). Anyways what got her motivated was that there was a yield ahead and we could not get yielded whatever we do. So we were the first ones done the quiz and at stage 7 ( I think). we decided to yield team French Sailors because they were in first place. So we did. after that we had to play chance and liz and got good luck and what had put us in first place. We rolled 33 and it said 15 minuets taken off of our time! So then we arrived at the hotel to find out Team Sumo wrestlers arrived first but... because we got 15 minuets taken off our time we came in first!!!!! It's sad to say we had to eliminate 2 teams this week and both teams are the ones who got yielded. Good Bye Team French Sailors and the ones who finally lived up to their name Team Losers!!!

Amazing Race: Tokyo

Hey Twi-hards,
My apologizes. I haven't had a chance to blog, the blood transfusion centre in Forks was overwhelmed! Any way, we traveled from Oslo to Tokyo this week. After that we traveled all the way to Mount Fuji -me and Kylee were cracking apple jokes the whole time! Mount Fuji is one of Japan's most famous tourist sites and it has an amazing view. We had sing to sing some karaoke and lets just say... Kylee and I should start a band, we sound awesome! After that we traveled to the Imperial Palace, it was so beautiful. And then we watched sumo wrestling. That was... interesting. After learning how to wrestle sumo style! Then we went to the Memorial Museum of Japan, this museum was built in dedication to the famous atomic bombing that happened during World War 2. Then we had to find this fish people eat in Japan. The blow fish is extremely fatal and poisonous, if not cut correctly you could die eating it. Now we're resting at the Peninsula Hotel in Japan.

Most of you probably know that southern Japan was hit with a massive earthquake and tsunami. It is also dealing with the explosion at the nuclear power plant. Japan's economy is strong and Japan will get back on it's feet soon, but please donate to this cause. If your looking for something to do or see in Tokyo, visit the Tokyo Tower, it looks a lot like the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Thanks for all the love and support (go Team Twilight!)

Elisabeth Cullen

The Amazing Race: Tokyo Japan

Hey Twi- Hard fans,
Yesterday we had the amazing race and we came in 2nd. First we had to fly from Oslo Norway to Tokyo Japan. We ended up getting a pretty good flight but not the best. Next we had to find one of Japan's famous tourist sites. The answer was Mount Fuji. 3rd. It was time to sing one of the most popular karaoke songs of all time. That was YMCA and we had to dance around to get our next clue. We did that in no time. After that we had to find the famous palace in Tokyo. Answer was The Imperial palace. Then we had to go to the smart board and watch a video about sumo wrestlers. There were 3 questions in 1 clue, they were how do you win a match, how long does a match usually last and how you can determine who the best sumo wrestlers are. the 3 answers were, Force his opponent to touch the ground with any part of body, they usually last about 1 min and they wear large ropes. 6. It was a roadblock. we had to play a sumo  game agents a sumo wrestler. I played twice and got it. Then we had to find out the famous memorial museum in Japan, and what date and event occurred during World War Two. the answers are, Shime Peace Mem 8. Then we had to find out what fish people in japan eat that they eat but came be very poisonous if not prepared correctly. The answer is a blow fish. Now we had to find the Peninsula Hotel in Tokyo. It was very easy. Now me and Elisabeth are hanging at the hotel till our next race. Here is 1 interesting fact about Japan that was not in the race.  Did you know Japan is More then 70%  mountains and has more then 200 volcano's.

Amazing Rcae: Norway and Sweden

Hey there Twi-Hard fans,
we just finished the Amazing Race Norway and a bit of Sweden and we came in 7th. First we had to find out what the capital city of Norway is and the answer is Oslo. Next we leered about reindeer racing. After watching a video we had to draw and label a picture of what reindeer racing is and how it works. Then we found out the Norway is famous for fjords, and had to find out what fjord was. The answer is steep cliff of sides. I think by that time we were in the lead and we were giving all of our answers to team bubble gum blig. Next we were in Trollveggen and had to find out what part of Norwegian it was. Answer is Trolls. 5.We had to find their two most famous sports and one of then is in biathlon. the real question was what two events are part of the biathlon. Answer is Cross County Skiing and riffle shooting. 6. Is where we went down hill.it was a detour. We first had to run a lap of the school then I threw ma been bag at a bolling pin and missed so we had to count to 50 then run again. We gave up on that idea then went to the computer to play the game in the Internet, and let me be the first to say it was really hard. We did not get that one so we went and ran one more lap. This time Lizzie threw it and got it but she had to do it again and missed so back outside we went. We came back in and we were done so then we got to move on. 7. CHANCE CHANCE CHANCE!!! We got good luck for once. 8. we were tied with a couple of teams at this point and we had to play a game on the computer and we had to do 4 laps. It took us a while but I Finlay did it!!! 9. We had to find the worlds famous ice hotel named Jukkasjarvi. Jukkasjarvi is a very beautiful hotel. Some interesting facts about Sweden. Sweden remained neutral throughout World war 1 and 2. Sweden is the 3rd largest EU county in land area. They have a lot of different baked goods. I will keep you tuned until next week in The Amazing Race!

Amazing Race: Norway and Sweden

Hey Twi-hards,
Reindeer Racing!
Wow, what a stressful race! Kylee was freaking out and then there's me, the calm one. Any way, this time we traveled to Norway and Sweden. First, we where in Norway, so we had to find the capital of Norway which is Oslo. Next we had to watch some reindeer racing, then label a picture of what you need for reindeer racing. After that we had to find a fjord, which is a famous sheer cliff in Norway. We then traveled to the lovely towns of: Trollveggen, Trollhatten, Trollstigen, and Trollheimen. Now, you may notice a pattern, notice how every name starts with the word "troll" that's because these towns where named after trolls, a famous part of Norwegian folklore.

Now, here is where it all went "down hill". We had to do a biathlon. But first, let me tell you something about Kylee. Kylee doesn't like to run. I'm serious, she doesn't. So what did we have to do? Run. Kylee walked a lot so we were slow, and then we decided not to run but to play biathlon game on the computer, which we failed. So she wanted to run... Again. So we ran then got to a thing where you have to knock down some markers and we missed. So we ran again. And we missed. Then we ran but made it! We were really behind (in last place actually) and we really needed to catch up. After the whole biathlon thing we had to role dice in "Chance". We rolled a 31 which meant that our "aching backs" weren't "aching" anymore. After that we had to ride some snowmobiles! We had to do 4 laps of the track to get our next clue. Finally, we traveled to the Ice Hotel in Jukkasjarvi, Sweden. Boy, I'm telling you we're so close to getting eliminated.
Wish us luck, we're going to need it!
Love,
Elisabeth Cullen

Amazing Race: London

Big Ben
Good day chaps,
So today we traveled to London, England. First of all, it actually wasn't we it was I because Kylee got a really bad case of fleas so she couldn't participate. I thought being in London was very cool because Carslisle Cullen was from London until he was transformed into a vampire; Kylee on the other hand, didn't really care because she was itching like crazy. For my first clue, I had to find out more on the British Monarchy. I had to find out who was the head of the Monarchy (that one was easy-Queen Elizabeth II) and how long has she resigned as Queen, which was since February 6th 1952. After that I had to find the London Eye, the largest ferris wheel in Europe. I also had to find out when it was officially opened. I also had to find out how to make a 99 flake. A 99 flake is basically soft serve ice cream in a cone with a flake in the middle. So, I then had to eat one- I didn't really want to because vampires don't eat food, but we can if necessary. After that I traveled to Stone Henge where I had to make a replica of it, it was harder then is sounds. A few tries later I finally got it and moved on, only to find that Team Rappers had yielded us and 2 hours was added to our time.
Now, this is were my acute vampire senses come in handy. We had to play rugby. It was easy, and I passed with flying colours. And from there, we had to find a picture of the Thames River and the London Eye. So all in all, I finished in 9th place. And I would like to tell Team Lost and Team Rappers that it was too bad you guys got eliminated and that you guys did an awesome job! I found a few things in London that we thought we should tell you. As you know, the Royal wedding is approaching, that will be something big, but sadly we won't be there for that. I also found the medieval banquet Hall and had a great meet-and-greet with King Henry the 8th. It was very cool. They had the whole place dressed up to look like medieval times with candles, tapestries and everything! I heard the food was good but I couldn't eat it.
Well, that's the Amazing Race London,
Love,
Elisabeth Cullen

Guten Tag!

Good day Twi- hard fans,
We just finished to Amazing Race and let me tell you that it was not easy. We finished 30 seconds let in the game. Here is what we did. 1st: We had to fly from Kona, Hawaii to Berlin the capital of Germany. I just checked and looked at or flight time and I don't think it is so good (sad face). 2nd: Germany has the world tallest church and we had to find out the name, how tall it is, and how many stairs it has. The answers are Ulm Minister, it is 160.9 meters high, and it has 768 stairs. Next we had to take centimeter cubes and build the church. each cube = 5 meters. Elisabeth Cullen did some math in her head and knew how many cubes we needed (she's so smart). The number was 32. 4th: After that we got to go to the Fairy Tale Castle built by King Ludwig II. We learned the Fairy Tale Castle was Walt Disney's inspiration for Sleeping Beauty's castle and for the castle in Disney World. 5th: We had to find the Auto Bahn highway, a highway in Germany where you can go as fast as you want! But, we had lots of trouble finding the highway and I started to freak out. Thankfully, Team Rappers heard us. Fang's to them who gave us directions. 6th: We had to find the 3 main ingredients to black forest cake. The reason why is because that is Germany's most famous cake. 7th: After that it was a roadblock. But it was a great one. I got to eat some black forest cake, let me be the first to tell you it was so good. 8th: Next we had to find out who/what was Checkpoint Charlie. It was apart the Berlin Wall and was known to be the place where most people tried to escape to West Germany. We are now chilling at our hotel. Well Elisabeth is because she is a gross vampire, but for me I'm sweating my fur off because we arrived so late. Anyways we are now in a position where it's possible we could be eliminated in 4th place. Wish us lots of luck well we head to our new county next week.
Love your #1 Twi-Hard girl,

Castles, Cake, Cars... Oh My!

    (Sunday, April 3rd 2011)
    Hey Twi-hards of the Fandom,
The real Black Forest
So this week in the Amazing Race we traveled to Berlin, Germany. The very first thing we had to do was travel to Germany via airplane. Once we landed we had to find the world's tallest church, the Ulm Munster Cathedral. This thing was HUGE it's 161 meters tall with a total of 768 stairs! From there we had to build a replica of the famous church using centi-cubes (plastic cubes that are one centimeter is length and width). Each cube represented 5 meters and we had to reach 161 meters, 161 divided by 5 is 32 so we had to use 32 cubes. Now we start to go into the meaning of the post title. We had to find the Fairy Tale Castle, which was built by King Ludwig II. This castle was the inspiration for Sleeping Beauty's castle in the famous Disney movie, Sleeping Beauty. It is also Walt Disney's inspiration for Disney World's famous castle. After that we started to loose our... well a lot of things, our minds, our good position in the race, and we lost our cool.

We went to the famous highway in Germany were you can drive at any speed you wish. We had to finish a car race in under 20 seconds, but we had some major trouble finding the highway. I kept my hopes high and prayed for the best. Team Rapper's came to the rescue and gave us directions (thanks guys!). We did end up falling way behind but we survived. Any way from there we traveled to this amazing German bakery to get the list of ingredients needed to make Black Forest cake. After that Kylee had to scarf a piece of it down, us vampires don't eat. From there we had to figure out what/who Checkpoint Charlie was. It was a spot on the Berlin Wall that was the most frequent spot for runaways to try to cross the wall. It was also known as Death Point or something like that because of the large numbers of people who were shot there.

Kylee and I were walking around in the beautiful city of Hamburg today and we found a famous historic site that is worth seeing. It's called "Hamburg's Port", it's located on the river Elbe, which leads into the North Sea. Hamburgs Port is also known as "The Gateway to Germany"because it is the largest port in Germany. It is also the second largest port in Europe. Any way we're a little behind but hopefully we'll catch up soon! Wish us luck, and thanks for the support and the reading of our very long posts!
Love,
Miss Elisabeth Cullen

Aloha, from Hawaii!

Aloha Twilight fans,
As you can guess we were in Hawaii today! First we had to fly from Toronto Ontario to Hawaii! I don't know how good our flight was but I hope it was good because we finished first, so is our flight was good we will win. After that we had to find out the name of the location the Japan attacked on the morning of December 7, 1941 and who was the winner. The answer was Pearl Harbor and Japan won. Third,we had to play battleship and it was a good thing I let Elisabeth take the job cause we were done really fast. Forth we had to research who is the Goddess of Volcanoes which is Pele. 5. We learned that there are 5 vowels and 7 consonants in the Hawaiian alphabet. The vowels are " A, E, I, O and U" and the consonants are " H, K, L, M, N, P, and W". 6th, was a fast forward but we did not do that. 7th, we had to travel by boat from the main island of Hawaii to the island of Honolulu, and we were first to get on the boat. After that we had to colour a surfer boy but it all had to be "In the Lines". We were really fast and very neat too, so we did not have to start over. Last but not least we had to find "The Pink Palace of the Pacific". We are now chill'en at a Pink Palace and for me it is a bit to bright because I am more into the always rainy weather of Forks and La Push. This just in. We found out that we finished first but Team NBA got a fast forward and got 20 hours taken off there time so we ended up coming in 2nd.
Here is a picture of our hotel.

Aloha from Hawaii

Aloha Twi-hards,
We just finished the race-we did really well- in Hawaii. Right now, Kylee and I are soaking up the sun on the beach, watching the other teams run around like crazy. I'm under an umbrella-you know, vampires and sunlight= sparkles- and Kylee's working on her tan. Okay, enough laying around, I'll tell you what we did. We had to get a flight from Pearson International in Toronto, to Kona International in Hawaii. We then had to find out what happened at Pearl Harbor and who won the "battle" which was Japan. Next we played some good-old-fashioned battle ship, we had to sink two of the other player's battleship's. We then traveled to Mount Kilauea to find out the name of the volcano goddess. Her name is Pele, and I knew her name but at the time, it escaped me so we had to Google it. We got to learn some Hawaiian by finding the 12 consonants and vowels in the Hawaiian alphabet (7 consonants, 5 vowels). Then there was a fast forward which we skipped. Next we traveled via boat to Honolulu, and there we found some surfer boys who needed colouring, we had to colour them in nice and neat. And now, we're relaxing at the Pink Palace on the Pacific.

Kylee and I found this great hula festival we were going to go to tomorrow. It's called the Hula Invitational Festival. 16 countries from all over come to Hawaii to compete... Hula style. What a great day, all in all we think we came in first.
Thanks for the support and for reading our blog!

Elisabeth Cullen

This Just in!!!

This is your Breaking Dawn (the movie) update. They have finished filming about half of Breaking Dawn part 1, which has been expected to make over half a billion dollars at the box office! They are now filming in Vancouver, Canada. Before filming in Vancouver the cast and crew filmed on an island (Isle Esme) in Brazil, they filmed the very anticipated "honeymoon" part of the film. RPattz confirms that the "birth scene" where Reneesme is born has been shot."Yeah I did it" he confirmed "chewed it up, and spat it out!" Another update: Be sure to cheer us on for our next race this Thursday, you can read the blog to find out all of the details and must-see destinations on our next post!

(below) An edited picture of Mackenzie, Rob, and Kirsten, we thought this was so funny!

Last Practice

Hey there all you Twilight fans,
The Acropolis
So today we traveled from Toronto, Ontario to Athens, Greece. When Kylee and I stepped off the plane, our jaws dropped. It's so beautiful here, the water is a crisp light blue, the people are very friendly, the climate is nice for tanning (well, for Kylee, vampires don't like the sun). Any way, back to the race. After our flight, we had to find the Temple of Zeus. This temple has been around for a while- It was constructed in 131 A.D, and is still standing today... well most of it- most of the remaining temple is just pillars and a floor, and a few steps, but the history of it is amazing. After that, we had to find the two rules of the ancient Greek sport, the Pankration. It's a combination of wrestling and boxing, and the only rules are: no biting, and no eye gouging. That means, it's okay if you rip some guy's arm off, as long as you didn't use your teeth! We also learned about a Greek instrument called the bouzouki. The bouzouki is a lot like a mandolin or guitar. After that, we had to try our luck, sadly we rolled a 41 which means that someone (Kylee) got sick from drinking sour milk (I told her not to drink it, but no she thought it was fine). A few other things happened and in the end... we got SECOND PLACE! (woohoo).

 The Greek flag
After the race, me and Kylee abandoned the hotel and went sight-seeing. We found this beautiful temple called the Acropolis. The Acropolis is a famous ancient Greek defence system. The word "Acropolis" can be translated to mean "citadel". This amazing ancient work of art is a great demonstration of ancient architect and skill. Greece is an amazing country, we will definitely return to Athens some time soon.

Thanks for your on-going support and thanks for reading,

Amazing Race Greece!

  Hey Twi-hard people,
We just finished the Amazing Race and I think we did well. Here is what we did. First we had to fly from Toronto, Ontario to Athens, Greece. Our flight time was good, we got the earliest flight. Second we had to find out the name of a picture which was "The Temple of Olympian Zeus". Also if we could find the exact same picture as it we could get 20 minutes off our time. Good thing we found it! Third, we found out that Greece was the birthplace of the Olympics. Some of the games were Chariot racing, the pentathlon, running, wrestling and boxing. Another event is called "pankration". We had to find the only 2 rules in that sport and they were no biting or eye gouging. Forth was a roadblock. I was really happy because it was the first time I got to do a roadblock this year. We has to use a Frisbee and knock down 3 bowling pins. I got really lucky and got it the first time! 6th we were to watch a video but it was in Greek so we did not understand it but our best friends -Team Bubble Gum Bling- did know the answer and they told us. Thank you!!! Next was a chance and we got bad luck but it was not really that bad. I just drank some sour milk. 8th we had to find out was the largest island was in Greece and that was Crete. Then to finish this week we had to find the ship captain  and take a Greek island cruise. Well we on our cruise I was on my laptop and found a very interesting fact. Did you know... that 12 million people around the world speak Greek???

Amazing Race: B.C!

 Dear Twi-hards,
This is Kylee Black here to tell you we just finished the Amazing Race! My partner Elisabeth Cullen has talked about our first 5 stages of the race so I am going to tell on! On our 6th leg of the race we had a Roadblock, Elisabeth took this one and it went by really fast. She had to go deep sea fishing and catch a halibut. Elisabeth and I have been to B.C before because we tried to get onto the set of Twilight to meet some stars, sadly we did not succeed. The 7th leg we had to find a referee and score a goal in hockey. It took us a while but finally I got it . Then we had to find out what Canada's national sports were in
1994. The answer was hockey and lacrosse. After that it was time to finish the race.

We had to find the Fairmont Chateau, Whistler. This hotel is ranked number 1 ski and golf resort in Canada. Once we got there we checked in then went out looking around and we saw this really cool bear. It is called the spirit bear and it is the provincial animal.

Amazing Race: B.C

(March 3rd, 2011)
Hey there Twi-hards,
So today was our first race. It went well, we traveled to wonderful B.C Canada (which is very close to Forks). First we had to take the Canadian Immigration test, which took us a while, but we got it. Next we had to find Stanley Park, that one was easy. Stanley Park is full of those pesky mosquito's, that's the thing with us vampires, we have no blood, so they don't like me. But Kylee on the other hand, they just love wolf blood. After the swatting, we had a yield, and thanks to Team Losers who yielded us and set us back 2 hours! We did lots more after that, like having to score a goal in hockey (which took us a long time). After the race, my team mate and I went sight-seeing and found a very cool tourist attraction you should check out. It's called the Capilano Suspension Bridge. This bridge was built in 1889, and is 135 meters off the ground! If your someone who's not so fond of heights, maybe you shouldn't try it, but thriller-seekers like us should defiantly try it. Another cool fact, did you know most of the Twilight Saga was shot in Vancouver. Kylee and I tried to fly to Vancouver to meet and greet some Twilight stars a few years ago when they were filming the first movie Twilight, but it didn't turn out that great.  Oh shoot, I've got to run I've got a shift at the Forks Blood Transfusion Centre.
Fangs a lot for the support and reading our blog!
Love,
Elisabeth Cullen.

My amazing discovery!

    Hello fellow Twi-hards,
It's Miss Cullen here, and boy do I have news for you! I was taking my daily walk around the Forks Woods (I was scanning the trees for vampires and stuff, you know). Then out of nowhere a large wolf gracefully pranced from the ferns. This wolf was no ordinary wolf, it was BIG, with russet-brown fur and large brown eyes. It had huge paws and ran extremely fast. There was only one word for this massive wolf; one word that I swore, didn't really apply to any living thing. Werewolf.

As you know, I'm a Cullen, not one of those filthy mutts the Blacks. But this was still an amazing experience and I ran home as fast as my human legs could take me and e-mailed Stephanie Meyer. I told her all about my siting and that she was right! I'm still so excited. If only I could see a vampire, then my life would be complete. So many wonders linger in the forests of Forks, I got to go back out and look for more!
Hope I don't get eaten!

About us: Kylee Black

     Hey Twilight Fans,
My name is Kylee Black and like Elisabeth Cullen said, we are participating in our class version of  "The Amazing Race"! We played it last year for the first time and it was awesome. I was teamed up with one of my other friends and back then we were Team Shopaholics. We had done really well but 1 or 2 games before the finals we were eliminated.
Anyways, the past is the past and all I am worrying about now is the future. In my vision I can see me and Elisabeth Cullen winning this year! In Elisabeth's last post she sort of told you how we met and everything. She is Team Edward and I am Team Jacob. I have a job as Stephenie Meyers dog sitter (how convenient). Elisabeth told you she got a picture with Robert Pattinson (who plays Edward in the movies), but what you did not know is I got one with Taylor Lautner (who plays Jacob). Then all 4 of us got a picture together and it was defiantly the best day of my life! Getting to meet Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson and best of all... I met the BEST FRIEND OF ALL TIME!
Talk to you soon, and we will keep you posted,
     Your #1 Twi-Hard girl,
     Kylee Black!

About us: Elisabeth Cullen

  Hey bloggers!
Well, first off thanks for reading our blog so before we start the race, we wanted to tell you guys about us.
My name is Elisabeth Cullen, and I live in the small, rainy town of Forks Washington. I work at the blood transfusion centre in Forks (I know, it's so ironic). I was born on September 13th (which is the same day as Bella Swan's birthday). I legally changed my last name to Cullen 4 years ago because I was so obsessed with Twilight and, Stephanie Meyer (the amazing author who wrote the Twilight saga) is my 5th cousin. As you can tell, I'm totally Team Edward, lets face it: Vampires are stronger, more powerful, and aren't as hairy or smelly as werewolves.

Me and Kylee met 2 years ago at a Twilight convention in Forks. This convention was HUGE! Even Robert Pattinson was there (he plays Edward Cullen in the movies). I got a picture with him and everything. I bumped into this girl there, she was decked out in Twilight gear (just like I was) but her clothes were all Team Jacob, and mine Team Edward. Since then, we've been best friends (even thought we tend to argue lots).

I hope you enjoy the blog and cheer on Team Twilight!
  Fangs a lot!
  Elisabeth Cullen
